Grow wheat grass indoor
I normally see wheat grass growing in organic shops and juice bars. Do you know that they can be grown easily? And you can grow them at home right in your kitchen?
Popularly called bread or common wheat, Triticum aestivum is a subspecies of the Grass Family, Poaceae. The annual originates from the Mediterranean region and Southwest Asia.
Baby wheat plants are widely known to be highly nutritious. Packed with vitamins, amino acids, minerals, enzymes and antioxidants, they offer numerous health benefits and often used to make juice.
The chart below shows the steps of growing wheat grass. For more information on each step and a few growing tips, read this article that I have written for the New Straits Times.
Happy growing and juicing!

Hi Delbar,
i got it from Opika at One Utama, PJ. I just got a packet from the normal rack and they didn't say for sprouting. Fortunately, the wheat berries could sprout :-)

However, the fresher the seed the better result (sprout).
Hope they have the stock when you are there.
Best regards,
Stephanie
thank u so much Stephanie .....
Will do. Thank you, Cindy Dy. God bless :-)
Hello! Interesting information. I have a question though. Must I replant the wheat grass or the sprouts can be used over and over?
Hi Choon Heng,
Good to hear from you.
Wheat grass grows for one time only as it is an annual grass. You need to sow seeds again for a new crop. Hope this helps.
Happy cultivating wheat grass :-)
Stephanie
