<span style="font-size: 85%;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">It was one fine morning (initially) when I visited this farm together with fellow members of the Selangor and Federal Territory Gardening Society. Now why 'initially'? Coz it started to drizzle soon after, haha...<br> <br> We were there for an orchid talk, organised by the <a href="http://www.sftgs.org.my/" style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 14px;">society</a>, on how to grow orchids and the use of appropriate fertilisers. Although I have been to this part of Sungai Buloh (the area near the Sungai Buloh Hospital), it did not occur to me that there is a orchid farm here till this visit. <span style="font-size: 85%;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Rumpun Damai Nursery is another one of the many nurseries at Kampung Melayu Sungai Buloh that captivated me. I was drawn to the beautiful variegated bucida trees they have here. Also the sight of the many wonderful and colourful foliages is incredible.<br /> <br /> The main road where all the nurseries are located seems to be pretty busy (while I was there). It's a pleasant experience walking around the nursery as all the shrubs are at their best. <span style="font-size: 85%;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">It feels refreshing to just stroll along Kampung Melayu at Sungai Buloh. There are just so many nurseries parked along both sides of the central road that cuts across this modern village. Each nursery is packed with many wonderful plants that are neatly arranged. Also the newly erected yellow signboards by <i>Jabatan Pertanian</i> (Department of Agriculture) made the place looks very uniformed. I also noticed that these nurseries are under the <i>Projek Hub Bunga</i> (Flower Hub Project). Well, don't ask me for the details about this project though :-)<br /> <br /> Seri Kehijauan Nursery is one of the many nurseries here. Although the workers were busy doing their work when I stepped into the place, they were quick to attend to my needs, which made me felt welcomed :-)<br /> <br /> S. K. Agrobase has been in this business for more than 20 years here at Kampung Melayu Sungai Buloh. The nursery opens daily from 8.00am to 5.00pm, and closes for a week to celebrate Hari Raya every year.
