Villea Gain Garden @ Garden Mart - CLOSED

You will surely not miss this nursery when you visit Garden Mart as they have many bougainvilleas in front of the shop. This nursery has various types of bougainvileas, in many colours, with both variegated and non-variegated leaves.

Villea Gain Garden opens from 9.00am to 7.00pm daily and closes for two days during Chinese New Year. They used to operate in Sungai Buloh before moving here.

If you are afraid of bougainvillea thorns, look out for this one type with smaller thorns.

Plant Variety Rating: 4 | More than 100 types of tropical ornamental palms, shrubs, trees, climbers, ground covers and aquatic plants. Mostly young or in-between in terms of age. It is interesting to see how bougainvilleas are grown in planters and pots. Some are already nicely pruned and shaped.

I also spotted calamansi trees and some beautiful papyrus, bamboo and dracaena plants here.

At the side of the nursery are some aquatic plants. I also saw many calathea, aglaonema, desert rose, crassula ovata, cryptanthus, anthurium, money plant and never-never plants, all placed on racks.

There are a number of mature trees like the Bucida molineti plant too.

Plant Condition Rating: 4.5 | The bougainvilleas are in especially good condition.

Layout Rating: 4 | Plants on racks are shaded while those in the open are placed on the ground. The bigger trees like oriental thuja, ficus bonsai are stationed outside. The smaller plants like ferns are placed inside. They are all arranged nicely and it is easy to move around the nursery to browse the plants.

Garden Products Rating: 4 | There are various stones and slabs, flower pots, garden ornaments, soil and plant fertilisers.

Garden Mart is situated next to Merchant Square. For directions, click here

Fyi, this lot (nursery) doesn't seem to have that many bougainvilleas anymore in recent days.

Hi, this nursery seems changed owner. The plants are totally different now. If you are there, visit the other nurseries which are situated at the same place as well. I am sure you can find some aquatics there :-)
