Ah Chui Nursery

Ah Chui Nursery is one of those nurseries that has a vast variety of plants for you to choose from. Even if you don't intend to buy any, you might end up getting some, like myself, haha... So if you have limited time for shopping plants, this could be a good vendor to visit.

From outside (along the highway) you would already notice that they have a huge number of trees, palms and bonsais occupying a long stretch of land. As you enter the nursery, you will also find plenty of shade-loving foliage and flowering shrubs in small pots. They are all placed sheltered and arranged orderly on racks and you will have no problem inspecting each plant.

Ah Chui Nursery opens from 9.00am to 6.00pm daily. They have been in the business for about 10 years. Printed on their business cards are pics of beautiful bonsais which you can actually find at the nursery.

I love the fact that the shades are high, hence making the place bright and airy. You can even drive in and park on the centre lane (it's not just a small path, mind you) instead of leaving your car by the side of the busy highway outside the nursery. It's almost like a drive thru' nursery!

Plant Variety Rating: 4.75 | Shrubs, bamboos, vines, aquatic plants and trees of many types. Among the shrubs, I saw starfruit, limau kasturi, ciku and mango saplings.

The newer stocks are mostly in front while the older ones are placed further back. There is another shade area at the back of the nursery. They have shrubs like bromeliad, anthurium, ti-plant and aglaonema there.

All smaller shrubs are placed together at one area with no bigger bushes to block your viewing. Go for the colour or the texture you like...

Plant Condition Rating: 4.50 | Most of the plants are in very good condition.

They also have red maple trees in a number of sizes.

Layout Rating: 4.50 | It's quite an organised nursery. All plants are arranged neatly and have ample space for customer to walk about.

Garden Products Rating: 4.00 | They have lots of gardening supplies placed under the shade. Other than that they also sell vegetable seeds in small packets hung on a rack at the entrance.
