Go Get a Garden Shed

A shed not only helps you to de-clutter the yard but also gives you the peace of mind, writes Vickie Harrison, in this second article of her appearance on My Green Finder.

Why Storage is Good for Your Garden

It’s often the case that those of us with gardens find they are prone to becoming unnecessarily cluttered. This clutter can take many forms, from garden refuse to tools and implements or even recreational items, such as loungers or bicycles.

The most noticeable effect of garden clutter is your no longer being able to use if for its intended purpose – namely, relaxing and enjoyment. But there are other knock-on effects from having a cluttered garden which can adversely affect your garden, and its inhabitants, in numerous ways.

Protecting Your Garden Wildlife

You may not have realised, but the clutter in your garden could be incredibly harmful for animals, birds, insects or even fish. This includes any pets you may have, such as a dog or cat.

The most obvious thing to avoid is having household rubbish in your garden. This can happen as a result of the wind, or nosy birds or creatures, getting into your bins and spreading garbage around.

Some kinds of household rubbish can be extremely harmful to wildlife and plants, so it’s best to keep your outdoor bins safely out of sight until it’s time to put them out for collection. Garden sheds are great things to put bins in, and they don’t have to be so big they take up all your space.

The Effects of Rust on the Environment

One of the best reasons to keep metal objects, such as bikes, garden implements and lawnmowers, safely stored in a garden shed is because of rust.

Rust isn’t necessarily bad for the environment by itself, but consider this – if your bike or lawnmower became rusty, what would you use to clean it? The majority of people will use a chemical agent for getting rid of rust, which will in turn negatively affect the environment. You can find lots of different types of useful sheds at www.asgardsss.co.uk, most of which are perfect for storing larger items.

Keep it Clean, Keep it Green

Ultimately, your garden will thank you for keeping it uncluttered. There are many inexpensive garden storage solutions out there for people working on a budget, and still more space saving solutions for those of you with small gardens. Not only will your garden look better, you will be protecting the environment as well. Green living, like charity, begins at home, so invest in garden storage and start enjoying your green garden today!
