I have been wanting to check out this phalaenopsis specialist since reading about them in the New Straits Times months ago. I thought that I had missed the chance to do so when I was in Ulu Yam recently as by the time I was almost reaching the farm, it was already 4.40pm and they close at 5pm!

A few missed turns got me calling the farm operator for directions before I finally found the place at the back of one of the villages here. Well, fortunately I have their contact number at hand :-)



Anyway by the time I arrived at the farm it was already 4.50pm, so I had only 10 minutes to go through the entire seven-acre farm! That's really impossible, right? It was so!

The attendant was rushing to close and quickly showed me their coldrooms which were filled with many beautiful phalaenopsis. I only managed to snapped pictures but did not get as much information as I had wanted to. Waltex Biotec is the largest phalaenopsis grower in Malaysia and have been in this business for about 4 years. They open daily from 8.00am to 5.00pm.

Plant Variety Rating: 4.50 | There are mainly phalaenopsis and a handful of other orchids.




Plant Condition Rating: 4.75 | The orchids are all in excellent condition.



Layout Rating: 4.75 | They have a good and spacious layout.



Garden Products Rating: N/A | I didn't get to view their stock of products :-(
