Kuala Cuau Enterprise

While I was on the way from Batu Caves to Ulu Yam, I was delighted to find this nursery in Sungai Tua, which was opened for business even during the Hari Raya holidays. So I decided to stop by to browse their plants.

Kuala Cuau Enterprise was established about eight years ago. The nursery opens from 8.00am to 6.30pm daily.

At the far right of the nursery are shrubs like bougainvillea, eugenia, plumeria, cycad, all placed out in the open.

Plant Variety Rating: 3.75 | There are lots of shrubs in the nursery.

I spotted saplings of 'diamond longan' at one corner of the nursery.

I especially like the varieties of alocasia, caladium and aglaonema that are available here. They have some attractive plants like episcias, perilla and Mandarin plants as well.

At one corner of the nursery, they have a row of hanging pots. The hoya and bougainvilleas were flowering at the time of my visit. The rest of the flowering plants were orchid, clerodendrum, anthurium, hibiscus, neoregelia, guzmania, Texas sage and powder puff plants.

Plant Condition Rating: 3.75 | There are a number of marvellous staghorn ferns suspended from the shade.

Layout Rating: 3.00 | Most of the plants are in the shade. Although the plants are in groupings, there are some plants placed everywhere on the ground and are quite obstructive.

Garden Products Rating: 4.00 | You would not miss the bags of soil and ceramic pots they have placed right at the entrance of the nursery. So if you require lots of soil, here is a good place to get them as you can easily load as many bags of soil into your car boot.

Besides that, they also retail a number of fertilisers and seeds.
