Peggy @ PJ Sea Park

Some months ago, I had the privilege of meeting Peggy at a wet market. I found out that she grows a number of plants at her residence at PJ Sea Park. Hence I decided to pay her a visit.

Peggy started to retail plants about a year ago. Amazingly she is also a retired circus tiger-tamer! So what an interesting change of profession it was... from handling animals to dealing with plants :-)

.

Peggy sells her plants in a van that is normally parked at wet markets and at her house which doubles up as a plant retail centre, whenever customers go knocking on her door. The official opening hours is between 10.00am and 10.00pm.

As I entered this home-based nursery, I saw lots of beautiful roses right at the entrance. I was also delighted to see some 'little bird flower' and 'red-bird' plants at one corner of the premises.

Plant Variety Rating: 3.5 | Although the place (the compound of the house) is not big, I could see that there are many kinds of plants in-stock, including ornamental, herb and fruit plants.

I bought a rosemary plant from her that I had to order and pick up later as at the time of my initial visit, the plant was out of stock.

There are a number pretty flowering plants like birds-of-paradise, desert roses, coral vines and roses.

I particularly like the huge variety of herb plants that she has.

Plant Condition Rating: 3.0 | Most plants are in average condition only but fortunately the rosemary that Peggy got for me was in excellent shape :-)

Layout Rating: 3.0 | The plants are all placed outside with most of them under some big trees.

Besides retailing plants, Peggy also offers rheumatism massage (walk-in and house call) service using her very own traditional circus oilment, which was produced especially for her earlier livelihood in circus amusement. The oilment is said to be good for healing muscle cramps, numbness and sprains. Hence, if you have any body aches you may want to give Peggy a call. I have not tried her service myself though :-)
