Choong Nursery

Situated about one kilometre from the Hulu Langat 11th Mile Hot Spring is Choong Nursery, a plant vendor that is opened from 9.45am to 6.45pm daily.

After visiting several nurseries along Jalan Hulu Langat that day, I finally came to this nursery, which was probably the last one on this road. The nursery has an entrance that is quite welcoming, with a big path that leads you in.

When I entered the place, I was first greeted by many shrubs before I reached the shaded area that has other plants like ferns and orchids (and chickens!).

Plant Variety Rating: 3.5 | The plants here are mostly shrubs. They have all the regular plants like calathea, diffenbachia, dracaena and other green ferns.

I also saw bougainvilleas, croton, canna, frangipani, palm and other flowering and non-flowering shrubs.

At the shaded area, I saw some blooming orchids and a nice selection of anthurium, caladium and begonias in small quantity.

Plant Condition Rating: 3.5 | Most of the plants are in reasonable condition.

I find the plants that are placed under shade to be in better shape than those placed outside.

Layout Rating: 3.5 | The plants are mostly placed where they fit best. The sun-loving ones are all out in the open while the others are on racks undershade.

Garden Products Rating: 3.5 | There have a number of ceramic and plastic ornamental pots. They have plenty of soil at its entrance for customers to pick up easily.

The nursery is located between the Hulu Langat 11th Mile Hotspring and a Petronas petrol station. To view the map, please click here.

Very nice nursery! The chickens are a surprise. The nurseries in my area usually have cats.
