Tan Brothers Trading Co
It was a hot and sunny afternoon when I went nursery hunting at areas around Batu 9 Cheras and Jalan Hulu Langat. That however did not deter me from fulfilling my mission of finding plant vendors in this part of the Klang Valley that day. One of the nurseries I found here was that of Tan Brothers Trading Co.
The main section, which is also the frontage, of this nursery is a spacious area on a little slope off the busy main road. This is a plus as customers are able to park within its compound, hence making it convenient for them to load their purchases on to their vehicles later.
Tan Brothers Trading Co opens from 9.00am to 6.30pm from Tuesday to Sunday. On Monday, it closes at 1.00pm.
The nursery is well-stocked with many ornamental plants and grass for walk-in customers. They are also into landscaping and garden maintenance services.
Plant Variety Rating: 3.75 | Lots of tropical ornamental palms, shrubs, trees, climbers and ground covers.
In an open space, they have hibiscus, portulaca, alocasia, palm, euphorbia milii, yucca, bougainvillea, zinnia, coleus, croton and many more ferns and their allies.
Meanwhile at a shaded area are many flowering plants and gardening accessories. They have plenty of orchids, desert rose, anthurium, mona lavendar, petunia, cacti, pitcher plants and some aquatic plants here.
Plant Condition Rating: 4 | The condition of most of the plants are pretty good.
Layout Rating: 4 | All plants are arranged orderly and it is easy to move around the premises.
Garden Products Rating: 4.5 | There are a wide variety of decorative gardening items and fertilisers. Many plastic pots and ceramic pots are also availble.
The nursery is located opposite a surau near Batu 9 Cheras at Jalan Hulu Langat. If you are coming from Jalan Taman Suntex, turn left at the traffic lights in front of the police station. The nursery is on the left, a short distance from the traffic lights. To view the map, click here.
