Seong Heng Nursery

What I love about going to the former leprosy control centre in Sungai Buloh to shop for plants is that you can go from one nursery to another without having to repark your car. Just park your car somewhere in the centre and you can move from one nursery to another as they are just next to each other!

Seong Heng Nursery opens from 8.00am to 6.00pm daily and have been in business for over 20 years. The nursery is divided by a small lane in between. On the left side are all the plants on racks and under shelter whereas on the right side are shrubs placed on the ground and in the open.

Plant Variety Rating: 4 | Mostly tropical ornamental palms, shrubs, trees, ferns, climbers and ground covers.

I saw some nice anthurium, sword ferns and zebra plants.

There are orchids, crysanthemums, prairie verbena, mona lavender and many other lovely flowers.

Besides lovely flowering plants, they have a variety of calatheas, spathiphyllum, syngonium, aglaonema, dieffenbachia, dracaena and codyline.

Plenty of shrubs are on offered here as well. There are hibisbus, canna lily, frangipani, croton, devil's backbone plant, alternanthera joyweed, euphorbia milii and other beautiful shrubs.

Plant Condition Rating: 3.75 | All plants are in reasonably good condition.

Layout Rating: 4 | Those plants that need minimal sunlight are all sheltered. The plants are grouped according to types. It is easy to mill around the nursery for both the open space and sheltered space.

Garden Products Rating: 2 | There are limited choices of pots. They have some ceramic pots on sale when I was there.

The nursery is located at the former Sungai Buloh Leprosy Control Centre, near the Sungai Buloh Hospital. For directions, click here.
