D' Lakeside Garden Centre

On the way back, after a visit to the Paya Indah Wetlands recently, I stopped by D' Lakeside Garden Centre, a nursery that has been in Dengkil for the last 10 years.

I was greeted on arrival by the owner, a friendly Malay lady, and her son. I was told that the nursery opens everyday from 9.00am to 7.00pm and closes for only four days for Hari Raya each year.

The helpful owner attended to me most of the time when I was there browsing the plants.

Plant Variety Rating: 3 | There are more than 50 types of plants that can be found in this nursery. They have a number of aquatic plants, ferns, trees and shrubs.

I also saw a number of climbers like lipstick vine, hoya and nong noch vine in hanging baskets. There were bromeliads, anthuriums and ginger plants as well.

Some nice foliage shrubs like dracaena and cordyline were also seen. At an open space, I found some flowering shrubs like allamanda and bougainvillea.

Plant Condition Rating: 3 | Most of the plants are in reasonable condition.

Layout Rating: 3 | Most of the plants are not arranged in an orderly manner as the owner told me that the nursery has been just relocated to its current position. Plants of the same type can be found at various spots in the nursery.

Garden Product Rating: 3 | They are a number of ceramic pots and soil sold there.

The nursery is located along the main road in Dengkil, not far from SMK Dengkil. To view the map, click here.

Really liked the ceramic pots. What are those aquatic plants that I see there? Water lettuce?
