Yap Kee Nursery
When I stepped into the premises of Yap Kee Nursery, I was immediately greeted by its friendly owners, asking if I was looking for anything. They then proceeded to introduce me to some of their new stocks.

The nursery is easily recognisable by two huge five-year old Chiengmai Longan trees that are planted at the back of the nursery. The opening hours here are from 8.30am to 6.30pm everyday except during Chinese New Year when they close at about 2.00pm.

Right in front of the nursery are many potted flowers like marigold, torenia, zinnia and celosia and hibiscus while at the side are beautiful foliages like coleus and croton.

The owners pointed out that the golden colocasia (pic below) is one of the rare plants that they have here which is also quite expensive!

The other pricey plants introduced to me were a Japanese and a Saudi Arabian desert rose plants, both about 20 years old.

I also saw some aglaonema plants and the hybrid in the pic below is one of those much sought-after fortune plants in Indonesia and Philippines. The plant apparently fetches quite a good price in those countries.

The red leaf flower water lily is found here as well.

Plant Variety Rating: 4.5 | More than 100 types of tropical ornamental palms, shrubs, trees, climbers, ground covers and aquatic plants. Mostly young or in-between in terms of age.

At a shaded area, there are many pretty plants like rose, blackberry wine, tricolour Asian jasmine, jasmine, petunia, heliconia, euphorbia milii, anthurium and costus.

There are many remarkable foliages like dwarf monstera, alocasia, calathea, philodendron, dieffenbachia and dracaena.

And more aglaonema hybrids...

Also found here are some young lemon tree plants that are growing well...

If you are visiting this nursery, remember to check out the episcia, pitcher and the many other unique plants sold here.

Plant Condition Rating: 4 | The condition of most of the plants are very good.

Layout Rating: 4 | All the plants at this nursery are well positioned and neatly arranged. I could easily move about and browse the potted plants here.

Most of the plants are placed on racks and under shade nets.

Garden Products Rating: 3.5 | There are a variety of ornamental ceramic and plastic pots.

To access the nursery, turn left at the traffic lights after exiting the Rawang toll plaza. The nursery is located on the right, about 200 metres away. To view the map, click here.

Hi Stephanie, you do a great job with showcasing different nurseries. Not that I am able to go there but it is interesting to see what sort of plants they stock. I appreciate your work.
Thank you Titania! Glad to know that you are also interested to see the variety of plants being sold here.
