Green Star Valley
While I was having my dim sum breakfast at Taman Paramount two weeks ago, I noticed a number of people patronising a plant retailer infront of Giant Supermarket. Hence I went over to check it out.
I found many beautiful potted flowering plants and began admiring them slowly. Besides retailing, they also provide landscaping and garden remodelling services.
Green Star Valley opens daily (except on the first day of Chinese New Year) from 8.00am to 8.00pm and has been occupying this spot for the past three years.
Plant Variety Rating: 4 | About 200 types of ferns and flowers.
The potted flowering plants and shrubs are most attractive. Some of the plants I found here include anthurium, pentas, rose, daisy, portulaca, hydrangea, hibiscus, morning glory, mona lavender, German violet, marigold, periwinkle, Chinese balloon and also aquatic plants like water lily and lotus.
The cryptanthus, pitcher plant and water lettuce also caught my attention.
There were also many nice ferns and foliage plants like calathea, aglaonema, zeze plant, bird's nest, sword plant, money plant and dieffenbachia.
Plant Condition Rating: 4 | Most of the plants (like the desert rose below) are in pretty good shape.
Layout Rating: 3.5 | The small potted flowering plants are placed at the front portion of this shop. Those that needed shade are placed inside. At the sides and placed in the open are shrubs like oriental thuja and ficus bonsai that are able to stand the heat. The shop has very narrow aisles.
Garden Product Rating: 3.5 | There are a number of gardening products sold here.
