PL Nursery

PL Nursery was a nursery suggested to me for review by one of my readers. I was glad to receive the email as it was my first time receiving a recommendation. It was also very timely as this nursery is located at Cyberjaya and I had earlier planned to visit Floria 2009 at Putrajaya, so I could kill two birds with one stone :-)

The nursery is visible from the highway (LDP), on your left, if you are coming from Putrajaya heading towards Puchong.

If you are coming from Puchong, it is on your right. Please make sure that you do not miss the Cyberjaya flyover (Persiaran Apec). After you have made a U-turn, keep left (you will pass a Limkokwing University College signage), then re-enter the highway (heading towards Puchong) and immediately turn in to the motorcycle lane on the left to access a slip road to the nursery.

PL Nursery has been in operation for more than two years and is opened from 9.00am to 7.00pm daily. Besides retailing plants, they are also a wholesaler and landscaper.

If you are the type who like to shop for plants at reasonable price at a tidy nursery, this is the place to go to as all plants here are neatly arranged and price-tagged. There are labels indicating the plant's botanical name, picture and price.

During my visit, I find their staff very corteous, cheerful and helpful. Some of them were seen busy propagating plants.

Plant Variety Rating: 5 | More than 400 types of tropical ornamental flower plants, palms, shrubs, trees, climbers and ground covers. Mostly young or in-between in terms of age.

I saw a number of flowering shrubs like nerium oleander, hibiscus, jatropha, allamanda, ixora, jasmine, crossandra, Chinese fringe flower, canna, psuedomussaenda, angelonia, tecomaria, clerodendrum thomsoniae, solandral longiflora, lespedeza bicolour, muraya paniculata and othacanthus caeruleus.

At an area under a shade net, there are many flowering plants like pentas, periwinkle, thunbergia, hoya and costus.

Plants like codyline, calathea, dracaena, sansevieria, polyscias and trandescatia are also available here.

If you looking for a beautiful shrub to fit nicely into your garden, this is really a good place to shop for one. You will be spoilt for choices here :-)

However, if you are looking for flowers in small pots or flowering annuals, aquatic plants or rare tropical exotic plants, the choices for these groups of plants are limited.

You will find many young plants,
like bougainvilleas, placed on racks.

Plant Condition Rating: 4.5 | The plants are generally in very good condition.

Layout Rating: 5 | All the plants are arranged neatly on racks and on the ground. It was remarkably easy to go around to view the plants. They have paths for walking and the plants are so uniformly arranged. The layout is very well thought with exceptional plant arrangement and price tagging system. This is indeed a very organised nursery.

Products Rating: 3.5 | There are a variety of ornamental ceramic and plastic pots. The large pots are placed outside the entrance.

The nursery is located along the highway (LDP), near the Cyberjaya interchange. Please click here for the map.

Update @ 15 April 2013: The nursery has closed down.
