Caines Nursery
Caines Nursery opens daily from 8.30am to 6.30pm. They are closed on certain public holidays (please call to check if you would like to visit on a public holiday).
The nursery was incorporated in April 1994 but the nursery owners have been in this business for the past 26 years.
This nursery is very easy to access as it is located along the SS2/SS1 main road in Petaling Jaya, next to the traffic lights junction adjacent to SM Taman SEA. It is also near the Taman Bahagia LRT station.
During a visit on 3 May 2009, I was amazed at the varieties of ornamental plants, pots and garden accessories at this nursery.
Besides running a nursery, the company also offer turfing as well as softscape and hardscape services, having successfully undertaken many projects for some well-known establishments and private home owners. They operate with a team of in-house landscape architects, supervisors and planters.
Plant Variety Rating: 4 | More than 100 types of tropical ornamental plants. Most ferns and trees are young or in-between in terms of age.
There are flower plants like Bougainvillea, Euphorbia Milii, Frangipani, Purple Wreath, Rain Lily etc.
But there are also some older trees such as the cardboard palm below which is about 20 years old!
Plant Condition Rating: 4 | The plants are generally in good condition.
Layout Rating: 3.5 | The plants are properly displayed with some being placed on the ground and some on racks, and they are grouped by types. Gardening pots are placed in the open as well as in a closed and shaded space.
Garden Products Rating: 4 | Most products are local with some imported from Thailand. They have a vast variety of ceramic and plastic pots (including nice strawberry pots), water fountains, pedestals and big pots for water plants, which not all nurseries offer.
This nursery provides delivery service for customers who purchase big plants. They sell both organic and non-organic fertilisers.
