<span style="font-size: 85%;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">I am so glad to have stopped by this nursery which is very unassuming and a great place to discover many good finds! When I entered the premises, I saw a man watering the plants. I didn't want to disturb him and just proceeded with checking and photographing the plants there.<br /> <br /> Shortly, the proprietor Pak Yusof came to greet me and asking what I was looking for. The nursery opens daily from 7.00am to 7.00pm. Although it's closed on Hari Raya Haji and Aidil Fitri, you can always find Pak Yusof at his house which is just at the back of the nursery.</span></span></span><br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 85%;"><span style="font-family: verdana;"><span class="fullpost">He mentioned that once a lady came by late at night to buy some plants from him at his house. Besides plants, you can also find minyak gamat, air gamat and balm gamat here... yes they are from Langkawi :-D<br /> <br /> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Plant Variety Rating: 4.50</span> | I discovered many attractive plants. Among them include a number of nice bonsais and many herb and ornamental plants.<br /> <br /> The billbergia pyramidalis plants were in full bloom. He says Chinese customers love this auspicious number. For his bougainvilleas, he will graft about 7 colours to one plant. Other bonsais include wrightia, kesinai and junifer. <span style="font-size: 85%;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">I have found another nursery that's is located right at the doorstep of the proprietor's home which is actually a corner house with an orchid farm in the backyard. When you reach the place you would not be able see the farm from the front.<br /> <br /> Well, such farm is uncommon in the city but here in Ulu Yam Baru, it's possible since there is ample land space everywhere. I thought that I had missed the chance to do so when I was in Ulu Yam recently as by the time I was almost reaching the farm, it was already 4.40pm and they close at 5pm!<br /> <br /> A few missed turns got me calling the farm operator for directions before I finally found the place at the back of one of the villages here. That's really impossible, right? It was so!<br /> <br /> The attendant was rushing to close and quickly showed me their coldrooms which were filled with many beautiful phalaenopsis. I only managed to snapped pictures but did not get as much information as I had wanted to. Waltex Biotec is the largest phalaenopsis grower in Malaysia and have been in this business for about 4 years.
