Fong Brothers Nursery & Landscaping

I was so happy to find one nursery in a busy part of Kuala Lumpur. Fong Brothers Nursery & Landscaping is situated along Jalan Perkasa at Taman Maluri.

This nursery really got me thinking that even though many are busy with their lives in the city, they are a number who could still find time to garden, otherwise why would there be so many nurseries around, right? ;-D

The owner of Fong Brothers Nursery & Landscaping has been in this business for about five years. The nursery retails a number of flowering shrubs and small potted flower plants.

On arrival, I was greeted by big bougainvilleas, ficus bonsais and many other sun-loving shrubs right infront of the premises.

The nursery opens from 8.00pm to 7.00pm daily.

Plant Variety Rating: 4.0 | There are lots of beautiful tropical ferns, flowering plants and shrubs, creepers, cacti and even desert roses.

The handful of orchids that were on the racks were so enticing. The blooms were shouting for attention. The purple one is much larger in size compared with the rest...

The desert rose, snake plant and thuja plants are placed outside. I saw corn plants and pothos under a canopy at one corner.

At a shaded area, there are many plants either with lovely foliage or pretty flowers, like petunia, staghorn fern, pitcher plant, zebra plant, anthurium, aglaonema, lipstick vine, dieffenbachia, homalomena and pepperomia.

The flowering shrubs that I saw have amazing colours.

One that have a really huge yellow hibiscus bloom with red throat caught my attention for awhile. I would love to have this in my garden. Hmm... but on second thought, I think I have too many yellows in my garden already :-P

The other flowers are just as extraordinary. Below is a collage of the flowers I saw there and I just want to point out that the two roses (bottom left) here were placed outside and seemed to have great tolerant to the heat and sun.

Some of my readers have written to me previously to enquire about small little bird flower and aloe vera plants. Well, this is one nursery where I saw both at the same time!

Notice those mini bonsais and cacti in the pics below? They were in really tip top condition. If I am not on a budget, I would have gotten some already.

Plant Condition Rating: 4 | I just loved the flowers that I see in this nursery. The gloxinias, gerberas, impatiens plants, peace liles and some succulents are all in really good condition.

Layout Rating: 4.5 | The layout of the nursery is really good. Their racks are all lined up in rows with plenty of space in between. The path was cemented and I could just stroll around without having to be overly careful with my steps.

Garden Products Rating: 4.0 | I will never leave a nursery without looking at what is in store for customer's garden needs. This nursery has a number of pots, both plastic and ceramic, fertilisers and other garden supplies and accessories. So, if you are the busy type and want to get some items for your garden really quick here is a nursery just for you.

Until then...

Here is where I bought most of my plants from. I like to come here because they have good varieties and it's tidy here which makes it easy to look for plants.

Glad to know both of you like this nursery as much as I did :-D

It seems they have moved to a plot of land just off Jalan Kuari, i think it's along Jalan Semerah Padi, behind the cemeteries that are diagonally opposite Taman Midah.

Hi.

This is awesome.

I love the nice comments left by you guys here.

I wonder do they sell Peace Lily and a variety of Jasmine?

Hi Ramsey,

I was told that this nursery has moved to off Jalan Kuari, along Jalan Semerah Padi.

The stock at the nurseries always change, so I really hope they will have Peace Lily and Jasmine when you are there later.

Still, the best place to look for plants is at Sungai Buloh Green Lane where there many nurseries along one side of the road. If one nursery doesn't have the plant you are looking for, just move on to the next one ;)

Hope this helps.

Warm regards,
Stephanie

they have raised the price of their packets of black soil by 20 % in price ..very mercenary and very unscrupulous of them..

Business must be bad for them in view of Covid19 Pandemic ..but these price increase should be reduced immediately or they will lose more business to thepoint of complete bankruptcy very very very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear gardenexpert,

Thank you for taking time to leave a comment here.

Fyi, I have also noted that price in general including plants has gone up in recent times at the nurseries.

Best regards,
Stephanie
