Annway Garden Centre

I have been told about the nurseries located opposite Sunway Pyramid but had not been able to visit them until recently. It was the last weekend of January when I checked out Annway Garden Centre, one of the two nurseries there.

What caught my attention on reaching the outlet was a red tent in the centre of its premises. Immediately I reckoned I would find plenty of 'auspicious' plants under it as Chinese New Year (CNY) is just around the corner.

True enough when I got near the tent, there were indeed a huge stock of such ornamental plants that customers could choose to decorate their house during CNY. All plants placed here are in excellent condition.

Annway Garden Centre opens from 8.00am to 7.30pm daily. They have been in this business for the past 10 years. Besides retailing plants, they also provide landscaping services to their customers.

Plant Variety Rating: 3.75 | There are lots of eye-catching ornamental palms, shrubs, ferns, climbers and ground covers.

There were lots of anthurium in various size and colours that were quite amazing when I was there.

I also saw grass sod, bamboo, costus, palm, bonsai and many attractive shrubs in the open area as well as a number of bright coloured desert roses and bromeliads.

Plant Condition Rating: 3.75 | Overall, the plants that are found in this nursery (besides those placed under the red tent) are in reasonable condition.

Right at the entrance, I saw some lovely cockscomb in red and yellow.

Layout Rating: 3.75 | Although a lot of space was used for the CNY stock, there were still space in the nursery for their regular stock. Many plants are arranged on racks. Most of the shrubs are placed in the open.

Garden Products Rating: 4.0 | There are lots of ceramic ornamental pots and garden supplies in the shop.

The nursery is visible from Pantai Baru Highway, the main road in front of Sunway Pyramid. To view the map, click here.

Wow, what an amazing display! All the plants look so good. I clicked on your photos to see the details and I gasped at the sight of the gorgeous blooms! Even the ceramic display is wonderful! I hope I'll be able to visit your country one day!

Kanak, I hope to see you here too! Everytime when I visit a nursery, I wish to have a big garden (like yours!) to grow lots of plants (especially those with gorgeous blooms!).

Pretty ornamentals and the citrus trees look like they're loaded with fruit! My lemon tree has only a few small lemons this season.

Diane, frankly, I don't know how they did that! There are probably thousands of those citrus trees in the market now - all in time for customers to usher the Chinese New Year :-D

Hi Nissa kz,

I don't recall seeing this type of spider lily there. Write or call up the nursery to inquire.

When you are visiting any nursery, bring a photo of the plant to show the nursery owner.

Hope you can find one soon.

Warm regards,

Stephanie
