Biogreen Trade

Some retailers, like Biogreen Trade that I visited recently, are definitely going all out to win customers' hearts. They have so many beautiful potted plants that one could hardly forego once he/she enters the shop.

I got to know about this shop from one of my readers who informed me that there are lots of tillandsias on sale here. True enough when I visited the shop, I saw many air plants.

Biogreen Trade is located at Giant Superstore IOI Bandar Puteri in Puchong and it is opened for business daily from 9.30am to 10.30pm. The operator has been in this business for about five years now.

If you are planning to patronise this outlet soon, watch out for their Chinese New Year (CNY) arrivals as they have lots of CNY plants in stock.

Plant Variety Rating: 4 | More than 50 types of tropical ornamental plants.

They have many popular potted plants like begonia, gerbera daisy, roses and green ferns that are very attractive.

Other than tillandsia, they have bromeliad in their stock as well.

At one corner of the shop, there are many cacti in small pots.

Plant Condition Rating: 4 | I saw a number of aquatic plants that were placed outside in the open. The condition of these plants are very good, likewise for those placed inside the shop.

Layout Rating: 4 | There are many plants in this small shop and all them are neatly arranged, either on the floor or on the racks. The ones hung from the top are organised by types. Their gardening products are all placed at one corner. Hence, it is easy to find and decide on the things or plants you want to get from this outlet.

Overall there is ample walking space for customers.

Garden Products Rating: 4.5 | There are many choices of pots and gardening accessories. This is a very good place to find gardening products for indoor houseplants.

The nursery is located at Giant Superstore Bandar Puteri. Go to the right once you have entered the car park. To view the map to Giant, click here.

What are those plants, right in the center, in front
of the cordylines, with the big leaves, strange variegatiion, a whitish line that seems painted all around the borders, in your perfectly
installed garden headline picture? I have seen quite
a few plants in these years, those never.

Reading your nurseries reviews I concluded that you
could have a television program about this project.
No one does, it. Not around here.

It could be successful because there are so many
products for the garden sold in nurseries that could
advertise. However, In my case I could not accept any
that pollute, except herbicides in my concrete context. Have you ever thought of it?

The other aspect, perhaps most important, in my opinion, would
be educating in terms of plant selection, maintenance and identification.

The way you write, the style will not require anything
to be added. Until next....

Antigonum,

I asked about that plant too. But I didn't get a good answer. Well, it could be an aroid species, a Homalomena or Schismatoglottis picta.

Yes, a TV programme would be good :-D! I never thought of that. And, definitely highlighting products which are 'green' is the best way to move forward.

I totally agree with you on the educating of plant selection, maintenance in our climate and yes, yes, identification! Many of us do not know the plant types etc. yet.

Thanks for your constructive feedback. I have learnt much from you!

Same here. Thanks for the info. It is a stimulating trip
to visit blogs with fresh views about the gardening/horticultural adventure. Down here,
is pretty much like Death Valley no matter how
much you stretch the imagination or good will.

Just for your information.. and others as well: I bought 3 house plants from this vendor 3 days ago, and I just found out that one of the plants, a dracaena marginata is infested with millipedes.. a whole army of them! The DC + one bag of soil was repotted by the vendor. I am highly disappointed as I have specifically told them that it's for my office, like who would want millipedes in their offices.. or any place in door for that matter. I haven't checked the other 2 plants yet, as they are in my office. Now, I am having headache as to how to settle this.

Hi Meliss, looks like you have a lot of work to do to solve this headache.

From my reading, you can try the submersion technique. Submerge the pot for at least a few hours into a pail of water to 'drown' the milipedes. Then repot it into 'good' soil. After that, I believe you do not need to water the plant for at least a week or so.

Good luck!

I don't remember seeing weedkiller here. But you can call to check first ;-)
