Cheah Wah Sang Orchid Farm

Cheah Wah Sang Orchid Farm is the third nursery that I checked out at Taman Agroteknologi in Bukit Changgang and what a pleasant discovery it was!

Upon stepping into this awesome nursery, I immediately observed a high level of tidiness with numerous well organised racks of orchids. As I went from rack to rack, I noticed that fans are installed to cool the place in addition to the shade nets sheltering the orchids.

The owner, Cheah Wah Sang, then took me on a tour of his state-of-the-art facility, the air-conditioned greenhouses!

The greenhouses are built to induce healthy blooming and cultivation of orchids.

Besides retailing orchids, the nursery also supplies orchid farming tools like plant trays and cold greenhouse.

This 15-acre nursery opens from 10.00am to 6.00pm daily and only closes for two to three days a year, during Chinese New Year and Hari Raya holidays. They have been in the business for the past 30 years. Before moving to Taman Agroteknologi nine years ago, they were operating from Subang.

To date, they have cultivated thousands of species, both from propagation using tissue culture and conventional vegetative propagation. Tissue culture increases yields and quality of orchids.

Plant Variety Rating: 4.5 | They not only cultivate a vast variety of orchids but also a number of collectors' orchids.

Plant Condition Rating: 5 | All the plants are in exceptional condition!

Layout Rating: 5 | All the orchids are potted and placed on racks. It is extremely easy to move around the nursery as the aisles are not only spacious but well maintained as well.

This orchid farm is so big! I've visited a orchid farm in south of Taiwan a few months ago, it was a great experience to me.
Have a nice weekend Stephanie!
